Level 5 In Aeronautical Engineering

Aeronautical engineering is the branch of mechanical engineering that deals with the design and development of aircraft. This can range from the cutting-edge technology of today’s modern fighter aircraft, to aircraft designed to carry many hundreds of people thousands of miles around the world in comparative luxury and with extraordinary efficiency.

The programme is blended based on the UK model for higher education, where a Bachelor degree normally takes a minimum of three years and includes requirements for breadth as well as depth of study. In this blended program learner will be completed their first 2 years in Bangladesh under Pearson BTEC, UK awarding body and final year/ top up will be completed in any university of UK.

This course is designed in line with international quality standards. It covers the four classical areas of aerospace vehicle design; namely: aerodynamics; structures, propulsion, flight stability & control and other relevant courses including the avionic system and engineering mathematic. The curriculum prepares the graduates for a career in the global aeronautical engineering industries, government agencies and other relevant job sectors.

Entry Requirements

The Common Application is required for students applying to any or all of KU’s three degree. You’ll be able to choose your campus and program s that you are interested.

You will need:

  • HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) / A-Level (Group: Science)
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Should have completed HSC/ A Level/ Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in an Engineering Discipline.
  • Minimum CGPA 3.50 or above.
  • A* to C and/or 9 to 4 (or equivalent) grade in GCSE Math’s is strongly recommended.
  • English Language equivalent certificate or Able to speak, read, write and listen Basic English or IELTS Score 5.5/PTE 51.

Career fields

Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering programme are qualified for entry-level positions in many sectors of the aerospace/aircraft industry (e.g. Airlines, Airport, Civil aviation, Satellite, Aircraft Manufacturing company, MRO, Aviation institution, NASA, Mechanical related field etc.), as well as with a number of other engineering organizations, including automobile manufacturers, mechanical construction and oil companies.

2 Years in BD/Level 5

Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma (RQF) is a 2-year international qualification which is equivalent to 1st and 2nd year of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree. This qualification is awarded by Pearson, UK and accredited by BTEC (Business & Technology Education Council) and Edexcel.  Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering is designed to provide with an in-depth knowledge of aircraft and engine design and level of maintenance engineering. The qualification is enables to progress towards obtaining a B. Eng. (Honors)/ level 6 in Aeronautical Engineering Degree from BTEC Pearson or a career within an aerospace or aviation industry. This qualification is also allowing learners to develop knowledge, understanding and practical skills to embark on, or further, a career in the modern aircraft engineering business, whether in aircraft design and manufacturing, aircraft operations, or maintenance and repair.
